A big part of our job is to document major milestones for our clients. Every wedding we photograph is an honor, and being asked to be involved so closely in such a momentous day in anyone’s life is something we don’t take lightly.
When wedding couples call us back to ask if we would take their maternity and family pictures, we jump at the chance to catch up with old friends, and once again feel privileged to make memories of the things that matter.
These are a couple of the families that we got to catch up with in the last few months, and I thought it would be fun to put together some older and newer images, to appreciate the journeys.
I’d like to extend a special thanks to everyone that stopped by our booth Saturday, and shared their excitement and details about their wedding day plans with us. We can’t wait to hear more, and look forward to lots of fun consultations to follow, and new clients and friends that will come of them. Congratulations to all the engaged ladies and gentlemen, and proud parents and parents-in-law! We hope you all had a blast at the 2016 Notre Dame Bridal Expo. We did!
Let me recap our day a little bit for you.
Alarm, fashion show (what should I wear? What should I wear??), Starbucks, arrival (looking fabulous).
Final booth setup touches.
We lose our booth. Where is it?
There it is, behind the coat check sign!
Someone (ahem) moves the sign. Yay! Now people see this instead.
We are thrilled to be situated between Morris Park Country Club, and the Easley Winery.
Yes. There was free wine right beside us all day. Yes, we could walk just fine when we left, in spite of their generous offers all afternoon.
By the end of the day, our feet hurt from standing, our faces hurt from smiling, and it was one of the best shows of recent years. We are geared up and excited for a new round of weddings, and can’t wait for the season to get into full swing. It was wonderful talking to every excited couple about our favorite thing: photography! Cheers to all the couples in love! Enjoy your engagement! Here’s to being married (and to free wine too)!
Our Favorite bridal show of the year is this Saturday the 16th!
Come visit us tomorrow from 10-4pm at the Notre Dame Joyce Center for the 30th annual Bridal Expo. We are excited to meet tons of brides and grooms to-be and party it up all afternoon at our booth.
Bridal shows are always a great experience for us. we LOVE talking with so many excited folks about their wedding day plans because you can’t be around 100+ thrilled brides-to-be without getting energized for the year of wedding photography. The show prep is always a great time for us to refocus, and plan how we will make this year our best year yet.
Come down to the Joyce Center and tell us all about what will make your wedding day amazing and unique. We would love to be a part of it!
The 2016 Notre Dame Bridal Expo
I am thrilled to say that pointphotodesign.com is all new! Consider yourself invited to take a look if you haven’t already, and see how all the hard work has paid off. Thanks to our web gurus Tim and Daz at Split Web Design for turning our designs and brainstorms into a beautiful new and completely redesigned home on the web. Please enjoy, and send us your feedback!
We watched the weather carefully as this session approached, and got so lucky with this beautiful day! The brisk wind just added some fun tousled hair to a few images.
Loren and Joe were natural models, and I couldn’t believe how many great images we made in such a short time. This was a tough shoot for me to pare down and edit. Some of our couples have to warm up to the experience of being in front of the camera, and it can take a few minutes to relax and smile without thinking (ask Ashley and she’ll tell you I am the poster child being awkward and self conscious in pictures). Not so with this couple. Loren and Joe rocked the session from the get-go with fun and smiles and a willingness to hike all over the Notre Dame campus.
Not only did the session go great, but a long walk in the sunshine is a perfect setting for getting to know our clients a little bit before the wedding day. Love our walks through Notre Dame on photoshoots, especially in the fall.
This beautiful couple were a pleasure to work with, and invited some of the craziest-awesome guests to share their wedding day! Ashley and I had a blast taking turns manning the photobooth that we set up in the mezzanine, where the fun never stopped. So many hilarious moments up above, and quite the party down below. Congratulations you two!
This was also our first reception at the brick, and I can’t wait to go back. It was a wonderful and dramatic setting, and the staff were very accommodating. They have since flattered us by liberally using our images for promotion and general bragging, which is wonderful. We are proud to be on their list of preferred vendors.
